2022 President’s Cup
Format:
This year we have a Blue bracket and a White bracket. The winner of the Blue bracket will play the winner of the White bracket.
If you have not played in the President’s Cup previously, it’s a really fun
tournament and a great way to get to know other members. The format is
match-play. If you would like, you can play your match during a Chief’s
Tournament (just make sure you putt all balls into the hole for the Chief’s
Tournament purposes).
The day you play your match, check your handicap to see what your course handicap is. You can do this easily by using the USGA GHIN App. After downloading the app, go to “handicap calculator”, type in the course you are playing, the tees you are playing. You can add your opponent by selecting “add golfers” and then search by name or GHIN number for your opponent. Make sure each of you have the same tee selected. Once you have your course handicap, you subtract the lower handicap of the two golfers from the higher to get how many strokes you will receive. Mark your score card with the appropriate number of strokes the higher handicap golfer will receive. Ex: Bryan Stiffen plays at a 12 course handicap while playing from the blue tees. Mitch Bunker plays at an 18 course handicap from the blue tees. Marty will receive 6 strokes on the 6 lowest ranked handicap holes. If you are confused, do not worry, most of the golfers who signed up have previously played in the President’s Cup and can help you along. Do not hesitate to shoot Tim an email, [email protected] if you have any questions. Please help those golfers along that are new to match play.
Brackett Selection:
Guys,
Below is the bracket for the President’s Cup Match Play.
I put everyone’s names in a hat and picked one by one to get the random pairings.
You can start playing your matches for round 1 and round two as soon as you can arrange a time with your opponent. All rounds are to be played at the Trails.
In the final round, if you and your opponent can’t agree on what tees to play from, it will automatically be the white tees.
Those of you that have paid the $30 entry fee it is posted on the first page of our website. If you haven’t paid yet, please do so as soon as possible.
